Before Wedding Day
Bridal Hair & Makeup Trial
in Northern California
A trial is the appointment where your wedding morning look gets finalized. You leave knowing exactly what you will look like on your wedding day, with nothing left to decide when it actually counts.
What to Expect
What Actually Happens
at Your Trial
The trial is a full hair and makeup session separate from the wedding day. We review your inspiration images together, talk through your vision, and then build the look. You see it, we adjust if needed, and we document every detail so the wedding morning is a precise recreation.
A good trial takes the guesswork completely out of the wedding morning. When your artist arrives on your wedding day, you both already know exactly what you are doing and how it ends up looking.
Why Brides Book Trials
Three Reasons a Trial
Makes the Wedding Morning Better
No Decisions on Wedding Day
The morning of your wedding is not the time to be deciding whether you want waves or an updo. The trial is where those decisions get made, tested, and locked in.
You Get to See It First
You will wear this look in every photograph from your wedding day. The trial gives you a chance to see it in advance, sit with it, and change anything before it is captured on camera.
The Morning Runs Smoother
When your artist already knows your hair texture, your preferences, and your exact look, the wedding morning moves faster and with less stress. The trial investment pays off immediately.
Before You Arrive
What to Bring
to Your Bridal Trial
We send a full prep guide after booking. Here is the short version.
Inspiration Images
Screenshots, saved posts, magazine tears. The more specific the better. Show us what you love and what you want to avoid. We use these as the starting point for the whole session.
Your Veil and Accessories
If you have your veil, hair pins, flowers, or other accessories, bring them. The trial is the right time to test how they work with the style rather than figuring it out on wedding morning.
A Strapless or Low-Neck Top
A top that exposes your neck and collarbone lets you see the full look together, the same way you will see it on the wedding day. A crew-neck or turtleneck breaks the visual and makes evaluation harder.
Timing Your Trial Well
Book the trial after any major hair changes like a cut or new color. If possible, have it two to six months before the wedding so your hair and skin are in a similar state to how they will be on the day.
What happens at a bridal hair and makeup trial?
We review your inspiration images, discuss your vision, and build your hair and makeup look. We adjust until it is exactly right, then document everything so the wedding morning is a precise recreation.
Do I need a trial?
A trial is strongly recommended for every bride. It eliminates guesswork on wedding morning, gives you a chance to make changes, and means you walk in on your wedding day already knowing exactly how you will look.
When should I book my trial?
Most brides book two to six months before the wedding. Book after any significant hair changes and close enough to the wedding that your hair and skin are in a similar condition to wedding day.
What should I bring?
Inspiration images, your veil and accessories, and a strapless or low-neck top. We send a full prep checklist after booking so nothing gets missed.
Can I book a trial before committing to wedding day services?
Yes. Some brides book a trial first to test the look and experience before booking the full wedding day. Reach out to discuss options and availability.
